Conveniently located along Interstate 35 on the northern edge of the Austin Metro area, Georgetown, Texas, is a beautiful city nestled between the clear waters of the North and South San Gabriel Rivers. The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce is a 501(c)(6) federally designated nonprofit organization with nearly 1,000. The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce received its 4-star accreditation from the US Chamber of Commerce in March 2021. The Chamber plays a major role in the economic development of the City and the region.
The President and CEO of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce reports to the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. The President and CEO, along with the Chairman of the Board, is the spokesperson for and representative of the Chamber to various organizations, both public and private, who have an interest in the City of Georgetown and the surrounding area. The President and CEO currently supervise a staff of four full-time and two part-time employees. The President and CEO provides collaborative leadership by maintaining a sense of positive mission with staff, the Board of Directors, the membership, and other collegial organizations. The President and CEO is expected to be a community leader and participate in local and regional organizations, as well as programs and initiatives endorsed by the Board of Directors. Other responsibilities include budget development and ensuring the development of both short and long-term strategic plans in conjunction with the Board and Staff.
A bachelor’s degree in any field from a four-year university accredited by the Council of Regional Accrediting Commissions is highly preferred. Chamber of Commerce Executive accreditation (CCE) by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives is highly desirable. Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years of total work experience in a Chamber of Commerce, five of which should be at the senior executive level. Said experience in a United States Chamber of Commerce-accredited Chamber is preferred. Private sector experience is a plus.

The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce (Georgetown, TX) is a 501(c)(6) federally designated nonprofit organization. The Board of Directors is composed of 21 business leaders from throughout the City and nearby areas. The Georgetown Chamber is a 4-star accredited chamber by the US Chamber of Commerce.
Potential new board members are recommended by a nomination committee to the full Board for their approval and then submitted to the membership for final approval. Board member terms are for three years, and a member may serve two consecutive three-year terms. The Executive Committee is composed of the Chairman, Chair-elect, immediate Past Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary. The entire Board of Directors meets once a month. In addition, the Executive Committee meets once a month. The President and CEO attends both meetings.
The Georgetown Chamber has nearly 1,000 members. About 25% are located outside of Georgetown. M...embership is a tiered-based system with the standard membership starting at $250.00. The annual budget of the Georgetown Chamber is approximately $700,000. The Chamber has approximately 15 committees and 200 volunteers.
Chamber members enjoy access to a wide range of programs that are designed to provide value to members and meet their expectations. The Chamber recognizes that a portion of the membership is looking to become more visible and credible so they can achieve growth for their organization. Programs provide structured networking but also include educational topics that businesses can utilize. Chamber committees are focused on the program of work and provide members an opportunity to volunteer and guide the organization.
The Chamber hosts three major events each year via the Annual Banquet, Bridal Show and Golf Tournament. An additional major offering of the Georgetown Chamber is the Georgetown Event Center, a facility located in the Chamber building at 1 Chamber Way in Georgetown. The Georgetown Event Center is managed by the Chamber’s staff and provides ongoing non-dues revenue through rentals for weddings, business meetings and celebrations.

The Georgetown Chamber plays a major role in the economic development of the City and the Region. Chamber leadership is a partner with the Georgetown Economic Development Corporation and the Georgetown City Council in retaining existing industry and attracting new companies.
