The Member Engagement and Communications Manager is responsible for membership recruitment, retention, and engagement, and administers current and new member benefits. In addition, the position is responsible for keeping association stakeholders informed through all communications activities, including social media, newsletters, TSHP's journal, the TSHP Interact community, and the website.
Examples of Duties & Responsibilities
Track and analyze membership and professional trends, needs, and participation to recruit, retain, and engage members.
Develop short- and long-term member recruitment and retention plans and strategies to expand and engage members.
Identify, recommend, and develop new benefits and services to ensure value to members. Regularly review existing benefits to ensure continued value to members.
Oversee the initial and renewal membership process, including dues billing and processing.
Maintain the membership records and database.
Support local chapter activities and provide services to local chapters to enhance member engagement.
Oversee marketing activities for all benefits, services, and professional development programs and resources.
Oversee the design and dissemination of all TSHP and R&E Foundation collateral, including educational program materials, signage, websites, newsletters, and the TSHP Journal.
Oversee and administer TSHP’s member community, TSHP Interact.
Develop and maintain the master editorial calendar for member communications.
Create and manage multi-platform campaigns and posts for social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
Manage the development and implementation of websites and mobile apps.
Engage and organize programs to train and support volunteers.
Work collaboratively within TSHP to explore new opportunities.
Serve as staff liaison to assigned Councils, Committees, Sections, and/or Task Forces. Attend meetings and conference calls, prepare agendas and meeting minutes, and coordinate activities.
Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Three or more years of experience in membership recruitment, retention, and engagement.
Two or more years of experience in communication development and implementation.
Association experience a plus.

Ability to identify key member and potential member needs.
Experience developing and and evaluating member benefits and services.
Ability to create effective communications pieces that generate desired responses.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to function in a collaborative and collegial environment.
