The Greater Houston Chapter of the Community Association Institute (CAI) is seeking candidates for Chapter Executive Director (CED). The CED reports to the CAI Greater Houston Chapter Board of Directors and is responsible for the organization's consistent achievement of its mission and financial objectives. The Executive Director organizes, directs, supports and coordinates the staff, committees, consultants and vendors, as well as the programs, services, products, resources and activities of the association to assure that the organization’s best efforts are made toward accomplishing the strategic plan and achieving constructive growth for the association. The CED Works to develop and maintain internal and external relationships and create a positive image for the organization.
The Community Associations Institute (“CAI”) is the voice for condominium, cooperative and homeowner associations. CAI is an international, nonprofit 501(c)(6) association created in 1973 to educate and represent America’s residential community associations and related professionals and service providers. It is a multidisciplinary alliance dedicated to the development of effective community associations.
5+ years’ experience working with non-for-profit organizations
Bachelor’s Degree preferred/degree can be substituted for 2 years of professional experience
Proven experience in designing strategic planning/conversations with multiple audiences
Proven experience in successfully working with volunteers to accomplish organization’s goals
Strong background in utilizing technology to improve and grow organizations
Strong listening skills and facilitation skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
