The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the national not-for-profit association established in 1863 & representing over 108,000 veterinarians working in private & corporate practice, government, industry, academia, & uniformed services, is seeking a PAC Manager for our Federal Government Relations Division (FGRD) located in Washington, D.C. This team advocates for the Association’s policies & positions on federal legislative & regulatory issues that affect animal & human health & the veterinary profession. The mission of the Association is to lead the profession by advocating for our members & advancing the science & practice of veterinary medicine to improve animal & human health.
Reporting to the FGRD Director, the PAC Manager is responsible for establishing, enhancing, & maintaining activities related to the AVMA PAC. They will work collaboratively with internal & external stakeholders to plan PAC Board meetings, plan & execute fundraising campaigns, & produce PAC communications & reports. They will also ensure compliance with all applicable FEC regulations & state/federal laws, while supporting the federal government relations team in political contribution strategies & managing PAC databases & external vendors. Approximately 25% travel.

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $82,000 - $114,000. Compensation decisions take into account a wide range of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, geographic location, business needs, & organizational policies. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity & consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.

BS/BA degree
Minimum 2 years’ work experience with federal PACs or PAC fundraising
Minimum 2 years’ experience administering PAC, knowledge of Democracy Direct &/or Quorum a plus
Demonstrated fund raising expertise
Advanced knowledge of database management programs
Understanding of Federal Election Laws, Regulations & congressional ethics rules; ability to read, understand, & comply with legislative and regulatory publications of the U.S. government
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with the federal legislative, political, & election process
Strong involvement with national, non-profit organizations is highly desirable
Excellent verbal & written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational, planning, & managing skills for group meetings
Able to handle multiple priorities

Able to function autonomously & as a team member
