The Vice President, Human Resources reports directly to the President & CEO and will lead all aspects of human resources for the Business Group including talent acquisition, talent management, training and development, employee relations, compliance, employee engagement and compensation and benefits. The VP, Human Resources will provide strategic leadership across the organization and will facilitate a culture that values integrity, respect, member commitment, teamwork, diversity, equity and inclusion, personal accountability, and celebration of individual and team success.
Specifically, the Vice President, Human Resources is responsible for the following:
Serves as a trusted advisor to the President & CEO and leadership team, while developing and implementing a robust human resources strategy that enhances people and culture and is aligned with the overall mission and business strategy of the Business Group.
Oversees a human resources talent plan designed to meet the current and future requirements of the organization. Ensures the organization has the talent and skills to meet the future needs of the membership.
Provides strategic leadership of the lifecycle of talent management,—recruitment and retention of candidates and staff; organization engagement and performance management, training, and development; succession planning; and compensation and benefits, all of which are inclusive and equitable.
Leverages cutting edge measurement strategies and systems for talent management programs to manage performance at all levels. Oversees and supports effective development programs that prepare employees for career growth through skill specific and leadership training, development, education, and performance evaluation.
Ensures an effective approach to employee relations including data-driven metrics, employee engagement, conflict resolution, recognition programs, and employee feedback programs.
Maintains strong working knowledge and compliance with federal, state, and local legal and regulatory requirements for all labor and employment matters.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
The Business Group seeks a highly ethical, strategic, and inspirational leader to serve as the Vice President, Human Resources. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of progressive senior level leadership and management experience, with a proven track record for developing and implementing robust talent and human resource management strategies in collaboration with an organization’s leadership team.
Specific experience and qualifications will include:
Experience implementing cutting edge approaches to human resource strategies, including comprehensive compensation, organizational design, development and training initiatives, employee relations, performance management, and human capital assessment.
Experience attracting top caliber talent and empowering and motivating a high performing team to ensure cohesiveness around operational goals and objectives.
Proven record of promoting diversity and equity in all aspects of human resources management and influencing a collaborative and culturally competent work environment that promotes inclusivity and respect across the organization.
Outstanding interpersonal skills and high level of diplomacy, key to forging collaborative relationships with the President & CEO, executive level leadership, and staff.
Demonstrated success in positively affecting organization dynamics through pragmatic leadership, strategic thinking, and strong business acumen.
A broad understanding of the functional components of human resources with experience leveraging human resources systems, payroll solutions software, HRIS and reporting to positively influence recruitment and employee retention.
Track record for building trusting relationships and maintaining confidentiality in order to foster rapport, credibility, and engagement with the staff at all levels.
