Summary: Responsible for medical student membership efforts and providing staff support for the Board of Governors, Resident and Associate Society, Young Fellows Association, and Advisory Councils.
This exempt position will report to the Manager, Board of Governors and Administrator, RAS/YFA.
Provide support to administrators in the following areas: Board of Governors (35%) and RAS & YFA (35%). Assist these groups in the management of committees/workgroups/pillars -- rosters, appointment/nomination submissions, on-boarding and off-boarding processes, essay contests, mentor programs, surveys, various projects, and meeting arrangements/preparation of materials for Clinical Congress/Leadership Summit, and other virtual meetings/conference calls as required.
Manage medical student engagement for the Division of Member Services. Manage student volunteers on the ACS Medical Student Online Community. Develop newsletter content and manage various communications to student members. Monitor and evaluate various project successes and report project analysis to superiors.
Provide other project support to the Division of Member Services, such as the management of rosters for the Advisory Councils.
Required Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
Minimum of 2 years professional experience in a similar or related role required.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Adobe experience required.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) necessary to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
Experience working with SurveyMonkey or similar platform preferred.
Familiarity working with membership databases (Aptify preferred).
Capable of providing excellent customer service.
Attention to detail and organizational skills.
Must be able to multi-task.
Display a high level of energy and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated and able to work independently and as a member of a team.
Ability to plan and prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
Ability to establish strong working relationships with all division teams and management.
Experience in Associations, professional services, healthcare, and/or education desired.
Physical/Work Environment: Fast-paced with significant people interaction. No lifting over 20 pounds, minimal reaching bending and stooping. Performs work in a normal office environment with long hours in front of the computer.
Other Necessary Requirements: Occasional evening duties may be required. Minimal travel for activities such as out-of-town meetings is required.
