Lead and manage CONECT’s external operations to ensure a financially successful trade association that is recognized as a leader in trade and transportation advocacy, education and networking. Act as CONECT’s ambassador to its board, members, sponsors and industry partners. Actively network in the industry to spread awareness of the CONECT brand and to keep the organization on the forefront of current trade and transportation issues.
Membership sales and services: manage sales of new members and member retention; determine needs of potential new and existing members and collaborate with the board and staff to deliver high quality content to meet those needs; run membership campaigns with innovative pricing and benefits packages; recruit new members and actively communicate with them & to ensure ongoing retention
Sponsorship sales & services: manage sales of meaningful sponsorships throughout the year that give good value for the price; lead two yearly sponsorship campaigns in collaboration with CONECT board sponsorship committee; write sponsor marketing material and communicate actively to retain existing sponsors
Marketing: manage content for promotional & marketing material, media advertising and web site; collaborate with Office Manager for marketing efforts that meet registration, membership and sponsorship goals; collaborate with Office Manager to arrange for media coverage; write content for newsletters, newsflashes and coordinate with CONECT DC office for additional content
Event planning and execution: collaborate with the board and the Office Manager to create, plan and manage CONECT events, leveraging trade and transportation industry knowledge and contacts to ensure CONECT is offering topical and valuable content for its members and sponsors
CORE ELEMENTS RELATED TO THIS ROLE:
Regular communication with board, members, sponsors & industry partners
Travel to in person events with some overnight travel (2 events per year) required
Presentations at virtual and in-person events
Strong written communication skills to create marketing and educational materials
Multi-tasking, handling multiple projects while delivering high quality
Provide and implement innovative content ideas
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Trade and transportation industry knowledge is essential
Demonstrated success in sales and a wide network in the trade and transportation industry for potential members, sponsors, partners, and other industry opportunities
Proficiency in Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Proficiency in social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Constant Contact
Located in Southborough, MA, this 1000+ member-based 501.C4 non-profit trade association plans and executes 10-12 meetings, events, and conferences per year throughout New England.
