Overseeing the operations of the Foundation, the incumbent will develop programs and initiatives designed to increase awareness of members, donors and the public on the importance of the Foundation, its value and purpose.
The ideal candidate will, through partnership and influence:
Serve as a member of the C-Suite to help guide the overall direction, priorities, finances and growth of the organization in partnership with the other staff leadership and external stakeholders.
Partner with the CEO on all operational and strategic issues as they arise; provide strategic recommendations to the CEO based on financial analysis and projections, cost identification and allocation and revenue/expense analysis
Demonstrate strong internal cross-departmental collaboration skills; contribute to a cross-cutting strategic planning process that results in the business development plan and implementation.
Develop a deep understanding of all business lines, programs and projects in order to better support development; be able to convey content, purpose,goals and initiatives.
Develop a comprehensive and multi-faceted portfolio of supportable projects, particularly those that are mission-focused on education, research and practice support.
Engage organizational leadership to enhance foundation and corporate fundraising and relationship.
Pursue relationships and funding with corporations and other external organizations.
Oversee the planning and implementation of business plans for the penetration of new markets; conduct/supervise market research to support initiatives.
Direct all customer relationship activities to ensure delivery of high-quality service.
Conduct customer meetings to deliver sales presentations, often with society leaders and key staff
Conduct ongoing market research to identify developments/changes in industry trends in order to make necessary adjustments.
Review current approach to business development and make changes where necessary.
Assign sales quota and target to business development team and sales/marketing units; consider an incentive structure for high-performing staff to encourage sales performance.
Conduct negotiations to determine contract terms and ensure profitable deals.
Cultivates and maintains long-term relationships with corporations and other direct influencers.
Initiates and develops prospective corporate relationships.
Must be an enthusiastic and engaging oral and written communicator; exceptional personal interaction abilities.

Serves as a member of the Senior Leadership Team; performs other duties as assigned; and maintains knowledge of the external environment related to health care
Train and mentor staff within and outside department
Plan strategically long-term while efficiently managing day-to-day activities

A minimum of ten years of broad and progressive business development/fundraising experience, with experience in gathering and evaluating relevant information and making actionable recommendations to senior leadership
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required; Master’s preferred
