SUMMARY: Creates and manages content for print, digital, web and social media platforms by creating content that is both engaging and shareable across all media platforms. This position will storyboard, produce, film and edit video; create graphics, ads, print material, and animations; shoot and edit still photos; and oversee other multimedia effort. Prepares artwork for the Arlington Convention & Visitors Bureau (Arlington CVB) publications, co-ops, ads, brochures, trade shows and other types of printed collateral to maintain a coordinated and professional image for all departments in the organization including Marketing, Convention & Meeting Sales, Publicity, Membership, Executive, Destination Services, Consumer Marketing, Trade Shows & Events, Visitor Services and Travel Trade Industry Sales).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; compliance with employee handbook also required. Other duties may be assigned.
Design and produce print publications, marketing material and collateral using assigned software, ensuring quality of final product; preferably Adobe Creative Suite Products
Knowledge of straight-to-plate prepress procedures & packaging
Requires proficiency in producing high-volume, press-quality PDFs and utilizing Adobe Creative Suite Products
Story board, writes, produces and manages multimedia and video projects, incorporating the most current and engaging story-centered styles, methods and technologies. Coordinates these projects from start to finish.
Produces creative, highly professional multimedia packages, digital signage and online and print graphics as directed, integrating across platforms as appropriate: video, photography, motion graphics, animation, sound effects and music.
Experience troubleshooting Mac-based system software and researching potential conflicts between system and application upgrades. This includes all Adobe software and prepress/print specifications.
Designs and prepares ads, brochures and miscellaneous printed materials to ensure total alignment with branding strategy and maximizing effectiveness of campaign efforts.
Reviews designs and content for potential corrections as the project progresses.
Scans and color-corrects photos and artwork using appropriate software and checks quality throughout publication process. Also, color-correct photos using Adobe Photoshop.
Analyzes and recommends appropriate photos to use in publications and collateral pieces for optimal visual effectiveness based on departmental needs.
Creates or adapts existing maps and illustrations for projects using appropriate software.
Troubleshoot client/ad agency files in preparation for accurate output and Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of design and technical trends and current software and hardware.
Research and recommend computer hardware and software purchases/upgrades. Maintain file archive for all projects, participate in meetings, solve problems creatively and efficiently, and manage multiple projects in a timely, efficient manner and with minimal supervision.
Exceptional combination of creative and strategic thinking and able to collaborate with team members, across all departments, to educate them in print and digital usage as needed.
Serve as Arlington CVB Brand ambassador by maintaining a constant focus on brand consistency on all projects throughout the organization.
Develops visually engaging templates and graphics for PowerPoint.
Adds basic functionality to visual elements within web pages and blog stories.
Uses outstanding storytelling skills to highlight the Arlington CVB.
Serves as the Arlington CVB’s content creator to create video content for leisure and business travelers.
Keeps current with rich media techniques, emerging technologies and latest web trends, as well as
with popular culture and media as consumed by general market consumers.
Manages archives of raw and finished assets and media, and keeps department informed of available content assets.

COMPUTER RELATED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
Requires proficiency in desktop publishing software applications including: Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Professional, Premiere Pro), Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word and Excel and FTP software. Hands-on experience working with Digital Asset Management systems. Knowledge of Content Management Systems (CMS). Knowledge of Simpleview a plus.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Four-year college degree and a minimum of five years related experience and/or training in publishing or print environment such as magazine or newspaper production; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced knowledge of marketing production, offset and digital printing, print specifications, page layout and publishing procedures and standards are required.
Proven editorial and transmedia writing skills and creativity are required. Strong time management and organizational skills are also required.
