The Manager of Education and Events is an exciting position for a planner who is ready to take the next step in the association market and join IASP’s busy events team managing a portfolio of conferences and meetings held worldwide. The portfolio includes a combination of events that include primary event lead and additional events where a supporting role is contributed.
IASP is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented professional to organize and manage meeting details with the Events team, consult with team to improve meeting experience; recommend/manage supplier products and services; and provide on-site support to meetings.
Directly managing the planning and execution of multiple event components for IASPs Special Interest Group (SIG) meetings and Board-level meetings ranging from 50-850 attendees.
Support Director of Education and Events with IASP’s World Congress on Pain with 6,000+ attendees.
Meeting design based on primary objectives
Develop and implement an event budget with registration plan
Coordinate with Marketing and Membership department for attendee communication topics and timeline
Seek venues and make recommendations to the event owner
Seek vendor services and manage event budgets to include transportation, food/beverage, audio/visual, décor, guest room inventory, meeting room set-ups, temp/on-site labor, etc.
Fiercely negotiate contract terms with vendors and venues to meet service expectations
Manage overall meetings schedule
Manage all signage for World Congress on Pain
Manage on-site event logistics
Gather, print and ship necessary event materials
Complete final event invoicing, billing and reconciliation with Finance team
Collaborate with cross-functional teams within IASP to create a cohesive event experience
Other duties as required
Minimum 3-5 years progressively responsible conference and event management experience
CMP designation preferred
Ability to travel to events as well as site visits. Travel may be international; a valid Passport is required.
Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills
Able to multitask, work well under pressure and prioritize
Ability to work independently as well as in partnership with colleagues
