The American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. (AOTA) is recruiting a VICE PRESIDENT, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY. This position is a member of the leadership team and plans, directs, and executes strategic and tactical plans for Information Technology.
Collaborates with internal staff leaders and consultants on the overall IT strategy and technology governance resources.
Serves as an internal resource for staff to develop and implement effective technology solutions for meeting strategic and operational needs.
Supervises IT staff, including Systems Administrator, Networks and Security & the application developers.
Leads the selection of software applications used across the association, acts as or supervises the internal project manager on implementations and integrations between systems, act as liaison and escalation point for support arrangements, oversee software licenses.
Oversees IT infrastructure and architecture such as network, servers, appliances, computers and peripherals.
Establishes strategic relationships with key IT suppliers and consultants, including providing direct supervision of vendors.
Works with the executive management team to maintain and enforce the association’s policies regarding data and operational procedures.
Oversees the development of documentation of the association’s processes and procedures for maintaining and supporting internal systems.
Identifies training needed for all IT users to ensure productive use of existing and new systems.
Prepares the technology operating budget and the capital budget and tracks progress of expenses versus budget.
Contribute towards the development and maintenance of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
Ensures proper compliance protocols are in place on all applicable data-related systems.
Provides input to executive management on all technology and software contacts in consideration across the association.
Qualifications and Skills:
Master’s degree in related field.
Professional certifications such as the Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential is a plus.
Seasoned executive leader with ten or more years of related work experience in information systems, information technology, or related field with a track record of success in delivering technology solutions for organizations with a diverse customer base.
A different combination of formal education and experience will be considered.
Ability to balance multiple projects, prioritize work, problem solve and deliver results.
