The Senior Director, Volunteer Management & Contingent Workforce is responsible for the development, oversight, and execution of a global, organizational strategy that leverages volunteer service and contingent workforce planning in support of the CFA Institute mission.
The position is responsible to establish and maintain the highest standards in volunteer & contingent worker recruitment, orientation, governance, risk management, tracking, assessment, communication, and recognition, while ensuring a positive and productive experience for volunteers and contingent workers alike. This role will also drive a collaborative relationship with member value and society relations to further integrate volunteer management mission-critical strategic objectives around professional development and future of our society engagement model.
The position will be headquartered in Charlottesville, VA, USA, and will be supported by Head, Organizational Effectiveness, Human Resources.
Minimum 7-10 years’ experience required in a combination of line, program, and project leadership roles that demonstrate the skills necessary to develop and execute strategy, identify and leverage resources, and engage stakeholders to create project and program success
Experience in volunteer management and/or member service in a professional association environment strongly preferred
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience required, advanced degree a plus
Highly collaborative style; experienced in building strong relationships and influencing stakeholders at multiple levels. Ability to establish trust and strong rapport with CFA Institute leadership team, employees, volunteers, members and others
Proven team management experience with a passion for developing and motivating teams and the ability to work effectively through matrixed teams to accomplish key objectives
CAE or other related professional certification preferred
Investment Foundations certification preferred
Experience and knowledge in implementing relationship management, contingent workforce and/or volunteer management processes to effectively manage multiple stakeholders
Experience defining and assessing technology solutions to automate best practice processes.
Knowledge of global finance issues and markets and investment professionals’ roles and responsibilities preferred
