What we're looking for: A highly organized individual who enjoys multi-tasking and working independently. This position is responsible for managing daily operations in the Radiology journal editorial office in Madison, WI, assisting the Editor in schedule management and travel arrangement, and supporting Editor and Peer Review staff in accomplishing Journal goals.
What you'll do:
Manage daily office operations, including ordering and maintaining office equipment and supplies, handling mail and telephone queries, maintaining files, and managing invoices.
Assist the Editor with scheduling and travel arrangements.
Check files for format compliance and verify the presence of the necessary forms and permissions. Correspond with authors as necessary and review editor decisions.
Prepare manuscripts for weekly meetings with Editor and Deputy Editors. Attend meetings to take notes and facilitate decision process.
Invite authors to submit editorials. Track submissions and communicate schedule changes to Managing Editor.
Handle various communications with Editorial Board members, authors, reviewers, and other Journal contributors.
Works in Editorial Office during RSNA Annual Meetings in Chicago, IL as necessary.
What you'll need:
Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
Comfort in learning manuscript management system required, experience with ScholarOne Manuscripts a plus
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task
