The National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) seeks to fill a vital role on our Finance team - Director, Finance. The incumbent will assist the CFO in the financial management of the Association in addition to supporting and serving as backup for the CFO position. The position is also responsible for all aspects of the A/R and A/P functions.
The responsibilities of this position include:
Manage A/R function, including preparing deposits, coding receipts, preparing monthly journal entries, and reconciling cash receipt logs to the GL.
Prepare and distribute all Association invoices.
Manage A/P function, including coding A/P invoices/expense reports, preparing semi-monthly check runs and reconciliation of reports to the GL.
Prepare annual 1099 Forms for vendors.
Reconcile American Express statements and ensure receipt and approval of backup for all charges.
Maintain accounting files, including capital asset and depreciation and amortization schedules.
Maintain positive liaison between Association vendors, members, and internal staff.
Assist the CFO in developing and implementing financial practices and policies.
Support and serve as the CFO’s backup in providing timely and accurate financial reporting.
Assist the CFO in managing the annual budget development process and updating and implementing the Association’s 5-year Financial Plan.
Support the CFO in the management of the annual audit process and tax return preparation by preparing audit reconciliations and schedules.
Assist the CFO with a variety of administrative and financial tasks as assigned.
Direct and manage the finance-related workload of the Human Resources & Finance Assistant.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong problem-solving skills who enjoys people and will thrive in a team-oriented organization, and will have:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting - required. CPA desired
2-6 years of relevant work experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience with Intacct, Bill.com and NetForum desired
