Exempt position responsible for support of CFP Board’s relations with firms with primary focus on the growth of CFP® professionals in all channels and aligned with strategic initiatives and organizational goals.
Initiate and develop relationships with major firms and other organizations in the financial sector for pursuit of business development and corporate relations opportunities.
Proactively identify opportunities for CFP® certification, and driving such opportunities from concept to execution.
Provide ongoing outreach to small and mid-size firms to engage and promote CFP® certification.
Work with Communications and others staff on messaging for pitches, RFP responses, presentations, media interviews, talking points, speeches, and background briefing materials.
Work with Marketing to produce materials to support cultivation and outreach such as collaterals, website content and one-off pieces to support business relationship efforts.
Gather intelligence on firms and other targets to provide staff with an understanding of the competitive landscape and to position the CFP Board for increased effectiveness in gaining new contacts and upgrading business relationships.
Collaborate with the Managing Director, Corporate Relations and others to identify and strategize on new contacts and business relations.
Manage and update contact database (Salesforce) for ongoing analysis and for identifying opportunities for outreach and cultivation.
Develop and provide relevant content on blogs, webinars, and other communication initiatives such as presentations for Board meetings.
Plan, schedule, and host meetings and events.
Manage and support outreach initiatives for events/programs (e.g. Firms Summit, speakers for conferences)
Support Managing Director, Corp Relations in outreach and cultivation efforts (calls, meetings, etc.)
Support and coordinating with the Center for Financial Planning on funding prospects and cultivation.
Other duties as assigned.
3-5 years’ experience in Financial Services industry preferred; CFP® a plus but not required.
Knowledge of channels, firms in financial services industry desired.
Experience in developing and cultivating contacts by phone or in person.
Background in sales and account management desired.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Self-starter with ability to coordinate and collaborate with others.
