This position is a permanent full-time position which provides administrative support to the Director of Governmental Affairs for accomplishing legislative and political goals of the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists (TSA). The TSA represents over 3,700 anesthesiologists, medical students and anesthesiologist assistants in Texas. The TSA Governmental Affairs team works primarily at the direction of the President, Chair of the Governmental Affairs Committee, Chair of the Economics Committee and the Chair of The TSAPAC.
The Administrative Assistant will perform administrative functions such as scheduling and planning appointments and events, designing and producing written materials including some graphic design, and creating and maintaining records and databases and projects as assigned by the Director of Governmental Affairs. The Administrative Assistant could be asked to monitor administrative or legislative meetings in Austin as well as produce analysis of Texas election data.
The ideal candidate will be an extrovert professional who has knowledge of and an interest in the Texas Legislature and their election. The candidate should be proficient with standard office software like Microsoft Office Suite as well as be familiar with the functionality of the following websites: Texas Legislature Online, the Texas Ethics Commission, and the Texas Secretary of State.

It shall be the purpose of the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists to advance, promote and support the practice of the medical specialty of Anesthesiology in the State of Texas. TSA has approximately 2500 members.
