The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), a national healthcare professional association located in downtown Bethesda, MD, is seeking a proactive, effective Senior Legislative Representative in our Federal Affairs Department with an active Political Action Committee (PAC). This position offers the independence to be strategic about the future of the health care system and of your career!
The Senior Legislative Representative will provide lobbying, policy analysis, and strategy development with a special emphasis on health care (e.g., Medicare). This position is responsible for designing and directing assigned Capitol Hill advocacy initiatives to ensure the association’s interests are protected, advanced, and reflected in the development of public policy. Able to prepare effective statements, testimony, comments and grassroots educational materials. Assists with PAC activities.
Requirements: BA/BS + minimum of 5-7 years of related experience, especially in health care and Medicare. Post-baccalaureate education may substitute for experience. Must possess excellent writing, interpersonal and communication skills and knowledge of Congressional process.
