WHO WE ARE SEEKING
LeadingAge Texas is a small-staff association seeking a new team member to fill the role of Marketing & Communications Coordinator. This is a full-time position with the primary responsibility of providing support and coordinating all marketing & communication activities for the association including promoting member services, member engagement, a positive public image and advancement of the association’s policy agenda.
The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is responsible for all social, digital and print communications of the association providing timely & relevant brand-focused information and a consistent message across all platforms.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manage and edit content for the association website and legislative action center.
Create content and build readership on all social media sites.
Coordinate and edit content for weekly e-newsletter/blog.
Create and distribute targeted broadcast emails.
Create marketing collateral as needed including flyers and presentations.
Coordinate the development and distribution of all digital and print communications.
Staff liaison to outside contractors on marketing & communications such as brochure design and printers.
Proofread and brand all association collateral.
Develop inbound and outbound marketing strategies for all platforms.
Develop and manage production schedules and marketing calendar.
Grow, develop and manage target marketing lists.
Track and report analytics for all communications and marketing efforts.
Assists in preparation for the association’s annual conference and events throughout the year.
Attends the annual conference and other meetings or conferences as assigned.
Provide administrative support to the Public Policy Director and team members.
Work with staff to develop press releases, press kits and presentations.
Assist in the coordination of media outreach initiatives, both social and traditional, that promotes the association’s policy agenda and public image.
Provide support for phone and office coverage.
Staff liaison to volunteer peer groups as assigned.
All other duties as assigned.
The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is a creative & detailed oriented self-starter able to initiate, execute and manage multiple projects and deadlines. The ideal candidate should have a passion for creating and implementing communications and marketing designed to attract, inform and engage.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills & abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or a related field.
Some experience in equivalent position preferred.
Proficient user of personal computer, Microsoft software applications, and aptitude to learn new database programs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong editorial skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members.
Proven self-starter with excellent judgment.
Excellent organizational & time management skills.
Ability to travel for LeadingAge Texas meetings as necessary.
Must be reliable and able to work in the office weekdays 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
Ability to use standard office equipment.
Quick learner who takes initiative and does not shy away from new opportunities.
Positive, flexible attitude and able to adjust to new challenges.
Experience with social media platforms, websites, graphic design software, email marketing software, and content management & association management systems preferred (YourMembership & basic HTML a plus).
Ability to operate a motor vehicle. Must possess valid driver's license.
