FIA, the leading global trade organization for the futures, options and centrally cleared derivatives markets, is currently searching for a Database Manager located in our Washington, DC office. This team member will use his or her talents to provide our members with exceptional service and give the association valuable insights into what our members value and need.
FIA’s Member Services department operates as the hub of the FIA member and customer experience, by managing and maintaining the association’s database and providing direct support to our members and customers. The department also manages key event and sales processes as well as access to member benefits and preferences. This position will report directly to the Director of Member Services.
Working within the Member Services Department, this tech-savvy individual will manage and build FIA’s data repository in its association management system (AMS) with attention to security and confidentiality. This individual should champion the value of unified data and insights that drive the enhancement of the FIA member experience around the globe. This individual will also be a leader in the transformational experience of implementing a new AMS platform that will integrate key digital tools and modernize the association’s processes.
The successful candidate must have a professional, friendly and helpful personality and be a self-starter. This position functions in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment with varied priorities and responsibilities. Previous database management experience and exemplary organizational skills required. Candidate must be proficient with AMS platforms, have knowledge Tableau, Microsoft Office and possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Conference travel and some after-hours work may be required.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
Help lead the new AMS implementation and serve as a trainer and advocate for FIA’s global staff
Be the primary knowledge expert and first tier support for FIA’s AMS system
Assist in setting up, testing and processing event registrations, subscriptions and other industry related resources and products
Identify ways FIA can better leverage its AMS and third party technology
Handle logistics for onsite registration at conferences
Provide reporting and data analysis for event registration, membership retention, etc. using AMS reporting tools and BI tools such as Tableau
Establish and document standard operating protocols (SOPs) and business processes for data maintenance and governance
Check database structural integrity of user and system tables by conducting quarterly audits
Partner with the Director of Membership on improving member/customer data processes
Minimum 2 years of experience working with an AMS (Association Management System), i.e. Aptify, Association Anywhere, Impexium, etc.
Acute attention to detail and excellent follow-through capabilities
Able to multi-task and sort through multiple priorities, conflicting schedules and deadlines
Experience with Tableau or other data visualization tools a plus
Advance skills in MS Office with a particularly strong skill set in MS Excel
Excellent analytical skills, as well as accuracy and attention to details
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Able to work with colleagues and members in different time zones
Ability to work in a fast pace environment, taking on multiple projects at a time
Able to travel for conferences
