The International Safety Equipment Association seeks an innovative individual to provide front line engagement with member company representatives for a Washington based trade association for the safety industry.
The Member Services Manager has staff responsibility for development and management of major association meetings and events, membership recordkeeping, and communications support. Collaboration across departments and the ability to communicate value to membership will be key to the success of the job candidate.
Member Services and Meetings
Evaluate current ISEA national meetings and events for their value to the membership; recommend changes if necessary.
Identify opportunities for additional membership events.
Manage all aspects of major association meetings and events: site selection, contract negotiation, program planning, budget preparation and oversight, on-site management, post-meeting evaluation.
Identify opportunities to promote benefits of membership and identify value-added services.
Membership Recordkeeping and administration
Manage a membership database to meet the needs of all elements of the association, including record entry, maintenance, and reporting.
Ensure that all membership, contact and distribution lists are accurate and complete.
Develop and maintain a prospective member tracking system.
Provide administrative support for ISEA staff as needed.
Write and manage production and distribution of member communications
Assist in preparation and distribution of news releases and manage routine media inquiries.
Manage ISEA online presence, including the Web site and social media.
In cooperation with other staff and members, develop and promote collateral materials related to standards, government relations, meetings and conferences, training and education.
Assess and respond to general membership inquiries.
Skills and Education Requirements
Strong writing and communications skills
Experience in planning and conducting meetings and events
Ability to work on multiple projects with members and outside contacts.
Working knowledge of word processing, desktop publishing, spreadsheets and database management, and ability to adapt to new communications and media technologies.
Working knowledge of and experience in using social media as an organization communications tool.
Organization and initiative – ability to work with minimum of supervision.
Undergraduate degree and 5 years experience preferred
