The American Urogynecologic Society (AUGS) seeks a highly motivated, well-organized individual for the position of Education Program Manager. This position will manage the Society’s educational programs, including live courses and enduring educational activities. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in managing CME programs, possess a strong familiarity with how captured event content can be packaged into online educational offerings. This position requires a self-starter who can manage concurrent projects in the context of a small-staff association, a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility, and a mind for details, without losing sight of the overarching goals.
Provide staff support (along with the Education Director) to the Program Committee to include the abstract process, workshop and roundtable topic selections, as well as key lecture topics.
Serve as the staff lead for the abstract management portion of the meeting. Specific responsibilities include:
Managing all aspects of the abstract submission process using an external software vendor, including the timeline, launch, collection, review, and scheduling process, issuing reports and final output of data.
Serving as primary liaison for all abstract speakers and poster presenters (inquiries, acceptances, declines, etc.).
Coordinate the abstract supplement, including working with abstract vendor and the journal publisher.
Assist in managing all faculty and moderators, including disseminating all communications as needed, tracking acceptances and declines, processing changes and responding to all inquiries leading up to and during the event.
Assist in managing the virtual meeting and speaker management system setup and execution onsite.
Manage the project timeline and work collaboratively with other team members and volunteers to ensure completion of milestones and deliverables.
Assist in assembling and proofing all copy for the preliminary and final programs. Updates content in the Mobile App as needed. Supports marketing strategies as appropriate.
Support the Scientific Program Committee’s administration by preparing various committee documents including agendas, meeting minutes, meeting materials and emails.
Other Educational Activities
Serve as staff liaison to the Self-Assessment Fellows Exam Writers
Manage the FPMRS Webinar Series production schedule and serve as the primary staff contact between speakers and vendor
Manage all aspects of the FPMRS Fellows Courses in collaboration with the Education Director
Assist with CME submission and reconciliation for educational programming (includes physician, nursing, and physical therapy continuing education credits)
Serve as the project manager for AUGS’ learning management system (LMS)
Collaborate with the Education Director to identify, develop and execute strategies for educational deliverables including new event opportunities, topics, and markets for both face-to-face and online educational opportunities (webinars, videos, podcasts, etc.)
Volunteer Leadership Management/Support
Build strong relationships with volunteers, key opinion and thought leaders, to leverage their expertise for content within the variety of educational program offerings
Work closely and professionally with key stakeholders, including organization leadership and committees, to ensure all event objectives are clearly understood and executed accordingly
Respond to member inquiries and resolves all issues
Perform other duties as assigned by Education Director
Minimum of five years’ experience in managing/supporting the development of educational programming (live and online); specifically, for medical or health care professional societies
Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills
Ability to work in a changing environment, manage multiple projects, and prioritize competing requests
Strong technical aptitude, including a high-level of comfort and familiarity with Web-based technologies in general, and ideally, with specific online education technologies (e.g., Webinar platforms, learning management systems) - Command of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
This full-time position will work at AUGS’ headquarters in Silver Spring, MD. No relocation expenses are available; local candidates are preferred. Some travel and occasional weekend and evening hours may be required.
