The American Medical Association (AMA), the nation’s largest professional Association of physicians, has a dynamic opportunity for the right individual as a Program Administrator in Physician Engagement (Resident segment). As a Program Administrator, you will contribute to the development and effectiveness of the Resident and Fellow Section and Market Segment Team by assisting the Director in implementing projects assigned to the unit with emphasis on organization development and administrative support. The types of projects include web site maintenance, development of HTML listserv messages, assembly and governing council meeting planning, membership outreach activities and program development.
You will administer and coordinate all functions directly related to the operations of the Resident and Fellow Section (RFS) and Market Segment Team (MST), including the Assembly and Governing Council meetings, Standing Committees, Board of Trustees and special projects related to MST. Communicate with resident and fellow members on a regular basis including updating the Web site with appropriate content and developing other communications as assigned and work with Director in developing new educational programs and content.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (such as English, communication, political science, public health, business administration, management, or education) plus at least two years’ experience in association management or meetings management; or administrative experience in medical education, student affairs, or related discipline.
Demonstrated planning and prioritizing skills.
Well -developed verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills to interface effectively with various levels of staff and management and to relate to the physician constituency.
Great organizational and time management skills handling a variety of multi-faceted projects often with conflicting deadlines in a fast paced team environment.
Proficient computer skills, including expertise with standard Microsoft software suite. Interest in web page maintenance and knowledge of Interwoven are desirable but in-house training is available.
Occasional travel required.
