Job Summary The Social Media Coordinator will work with internal and external partners to create and maintain a strong online presence for the association by implementing online communications and marketing strategies through the association’s social media accounts in conjunction with the association’s website. This individual will develop original content and suggest creative ways to attract more members, promote our brand, and increase web traffic and customer engagement. The Social Media Coordinator will also write and develop content for the association’s website and make content updates to the website.
Research audience preferences and discover current trends.
Work with internal partners to manage content calendar for social media channels.
Develop an optimal posting schedule, considering traffic and engagement metrics.
Create engaging text and work with Creative team to develop image and video content for social media.
Design posts to sustain readers’ curiosity and create buzz around relevant and/or emerging content, hot topics, marketing promotions, etc.
Monitor post and channel metrics and optimize content to acquire new followers and increase awareness and engagement among existing followers.
Work with Marketing Analytics team to monitor social media impact on web traffic.
Oversee social media accounts.
Stay up-to-date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness.
Train staff and member leaders to use social media in a cohesive and beneficial way.
Manage relationships with social influencers.
Facilitate online conversations with members/customers and respond to queries.
Write web copy and make updates to association website.
Assist with copy for other marketing and communications collateral as needed.
Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
Minimum of 2 years in marketing, communications and/or advertising.
Proven work experience as a social media coordinator.
Expertise in multiple social media platforms, particularly Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram
Ability to deliver creative written content and interface with graphic designers to create visual content for social media.
Ability to grasp future trends in digital technologies and act proactively.
Experience using Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or another social media management solution.
Knowledge of Google Analytics a plus.
Experience using Sitefinity or other web content management platform a plus.
Ability to use MS Office, relevant Adobe Acrobat products, and all major web browsers.
Excellent communication skills.
Multitasking, organizational, and analytical skills.
Ability to distill scientific or other technical information into clear and understandable content for social media and web.
Ability to tailor information for the intended audience and communication vehicle.
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
Ability to meet deadlines, work on multiple assignments concurrently, and follow up independently to complete assignments in a timely and effective manner.
