Association Management Company in McLean, Virginia that serves not-for-profit health and medical associations seeks a full-time Executive Director. This individual will be a self-starter who will be groomed by the President & CEO. Candidate must show progressive career advancement and a wide range of responsibilities including personnel management successfully managed. We seek a highly motivated individual, who will promote and facilitate the ability of the board to govern and who will bring strong strategic problem solving and tactical operational skills to the association's work. Strong finance and meeting experience is essential. Association experience and excellent computer skills are necessary. Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master's Preferred
Certified Association Executive (CAE) desired.
Significant Association management experience required.
5-10 years experience in Association or non-profit or AMC Administrative Leadership experience preferred.
The Executive Director will be a versatile executive and possess a broad understanding of association management. Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills are necessary. Detail oriented, outcomes focused, collaborative spirit, and demonstrated personal credibility and integrity. The ideal candidate will have association experience and a minimum of 5 to 10 years of progressive leadership experience that included oversight of other personnel and of complex projects/programs and have a high energy level and expectations for advancement. The skills to articulate a vision, create consensus, and motivate and manage staff and member committees are needed. Experience with and understanding of grant process (from identification of funding sources to grant administration) is desired. Strong background in and understanding of finances and financial reporting is necessary.
