The Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (“CFP Board”) - headquartered in Washington, D.C.-is the certifying body for over 76,000 financial planning professionals. It is the non-profit organization that fosters professional standards in personal financial planning through its setting and enforcement of the education, examination, experience, ethics, and other requirements for the CFP certification.
CFP Board is seeking a Manager, Online Communications who will work with cross-functional teams responsible for content, design, analytics and maintenance of the website, social media and other digital spaces. The successful candidate will also collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure strategic direction and goals are accomplished.
Collaborates with CFP Board staff in the development and implementation of effective, integrated online communications plans that includes websites, social media, email and other forms of communication
Develops an on-going strategy for ensuring online content is current, consistent, audience-appropriate and accurate across multiple sites, to promote an integrated and high-quality user experience across all of the organization’s web platforms
Oversees CFP Board’s standards for online content to ensure proper voice, tone and style, visual guidelines and brand name usage
Monitors usability and effectiveness for CFP.net and related sites, identifying areas for improvement and providing recommendations
Collaborates across CFP Board departments to develop social media content and online brand awareness
Monitors web-based and social media trends, incorporating the latest technologies and digitally-based communication tools to enhance the accessibility of CFP Board’s online tools and assets
Coordinates CFP Board’s website/microsite development projects; identifies and works with CFP Board staff and web development consultants to plan and implement new website projects
Serves as CFP Board liaison with web development vendors
Works closely with IT staff to coordinate project planning and rollouts
Reviews and approves content for CFP Board’s websites, working with department representatives to complete updates in a timely manner consistent with communications standards
Trains CFP Board staff members how to use the Web Content Management System, supporting staff to ensure website content remains relevant and accurate
Tracks and reports website-related data, and develops recommendations based on that data
Manages webinars and related scheduling
Maintains production and editorial calendars for online content
Performs other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, web design or equivalent relevant work experience
Minimum 4 years’ experience writing and editing for websites and electronic communications
Experience with website development and design concepts; proficient with image editing software
Experience with Google Analytics
Experience with Sitefinity and netFORUM website content management systems preferred
Experience with Adobe Connect preferred
Experience with business uses of social media
Creative writer, able to alter style according to audience; strong proofreading skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High level of professionalism and ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, and follow through on issues in a timely manner
Ability to understand and use basic html formatting; knowledge of CSS a plus
