The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Foundation (OMS Foundation), located in Rosemont, IL, has an immediate opening for a Development Director. The Development Director will be responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies to cultivate donors and corporate supporters utilizing effective fundraising strategies. The director will work closely with the Associate Executive Director and engage the Board of Directors in all development and fundraising endeavors. The OMS Foundation is housed in the offices of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS).
Founded in 1959, the OMS Foundation strategically invests in opportunities at the forefront of research, patient care, and education. OMS Foundation sees continuous innovation and improvement in the profession as an imperative and to that end has granted more than $12 million in research awards, fellowships, and specialty-focused projects. The research and education supported by the Foundation is designed to improve both the treatment and experience of patients requiring oral and maxillofacial surgery. Recipients of OMS Foundation research awards have pioneered breakthroughs in pain management, implants, tissue regeneration, and innovative surgical techniques.
Develop and implement the annual fundraising plan utilizing effective fundraising strategies.
Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with individuals, corporations and non-profits whose missions align with the OMSF mission.
Collaborate with Associate Executive Director, Board of Directors, and volunteers to identify and develop new fundraising opportunities.
Design Annual Meeting activities and events.
Attend state and regional meetings to speak on behalf of the Foundation.
Collaborate with the communications department for effective marketing materials.
Attend board meetings to update and present the development report to the Board of Directors.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Proven success in fundraising and building strategic partnerships.
Strong leadership abilities.
Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of progressive development experience. Prior experience with a medical foundation desirable.
CFRE designation strongly preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of Raiser’s Edge.
Ability to articulate the Foundation’s mission and goals with energy and passion.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel. Some weekend and evening work will be required.
