We are searching for a Specialist, Programs & Partnerships who would like to join a collaborative and dynamic team of talented professionals who are passionate about supporting education. The Programs & Partnerships Specialist supports National PTA’s programs and partnerships team, specifically focuses on outreach, volunteer training programs, and project coordination.
The Specialist works collaboratively with national staff, state leaders, and local leaders to implement programs at the local level. The specialist builds partnerships and develops outreach strategies that assist with the adoption of National PTA programs at the local level and across a diverse range of communities, schools, and families.
This is the perfect position for someone with experience mobilizing volunteers, providing outstanding customer service, an interest in supporting program marketing to work at the national level with the country’s largest child advocacy organization. This position is responsible for:
Inspire, motivate and encourage local PTA units to participate in National PTA programming
Serve as main point of contact for PTA state leaders and members on National PTA programs, providing high-quality customer service
Develop program-specific content and collaborate with National PTA’s Communications Department in the development of program materials, a communications plan, web content, and social media messages in support of National PTA’s programs and partnerships
Prepare and monitor program timelines and develops program final reports, including program evaluation
Serve as primary point of contact for local and state PTA grant recipients, including the provision of technical assistance as needed
Assist in developing and executing program trainings for our members
Assist and conduct webinars/technical assistance on National PTA’s programs
Oversee the department email inboxes to ensure timely response to public, partner and member inquires

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience • Experience working and supporting diverse and low-income communities in family engagement programs • 1-3 years of professional experience, with at least one year of solid project coordination experience preferably with an education nonprofit/association • Experience writing for internal and external communications vehicles • Experience with community outreach, and volunteer engagement, particularly in underserved or economically distressed settings • Experience providing phone and email customer service to public or member inquiries • Spanish language preferred

• Professional demeanor and effective interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills • Strong attention to detail oriented and able to establish and maintain deadlines • Strong written with the ability to edit written communication • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills and comfort with/ability to use survey instruments; strong typing skills • Strong phone presence; customer service • Ability to work independently and as an enthusiastic team player that is highly organized, flexible, and customer-service oriented Ability to: • Spanish- ability to speak and understand Spanish as well as experience making presentations are a plus.
